Michael McGilbourne's life mirrors the monetary evolution he chronicles in 2140 - The Rise of Bitcoin Citadels. His journey from London's financial district to writing this book as a traveling digital nomad embodies the very transformation he envisions. Starting as an intern at a London stock broker, Michael progressed to become a financial advisor in the USA and later worked in foreign exchange risk insurance, where he witnessed firsthand the institutional machinery that maintains fiat monetary hegemony. His experience in traditional finance and risk assessment gave him unique insight into the systemic vulnerabilities that Bitcoin's mathematical certainty addresses." Leaving traditional finance behind, Michael established yoga studios and an off-grid retreat center in the French Alps, learning to create harmony between human needs and natural systems. Like the Rio Verde facility in his novel, this experience proved that technology and nature need not be adversaries. For the past several years, Michael has embraced Bitcoin's borderless promise, traveling the world as a digital nomad with his wife and three daughters.
